Chesterfield, Missouri -- February, 2003 -- Digital Preservation, has been awarded the State of Missouri's digital imaging contract for 2003 - 2004. Bob Lyner, owner/founder, said he is "pleased to have this opportunity". "Due to our consistent high level of quality, unique on site service and experience handling fragile source material, we have been awarded the State of Missouri's annual digital imaging contract, for the second consecutive year."

   The company specializes in digitizing historic documents and maps. Items digitally captured, to date, consist of illuminated manuscripts, maps, original art, architectural renderings, mosaics, landplats, bound volumes and dimensional artifacts. Sizes have ranged from 8"X10" glass plate negatives to a mounted 92"X 63" map. The digital files are used to preserve information, output archival prints, publications, exhibits, insurance and web use.

Digital Preservation Wins State of Missouri's Digital Imaging Contract

   Digital Preservation was conceived, in 1999 by Bob Lyner, to provide custom on site digital imaging services to libraries, museums, archives and manuscript repositories.

  Clients include the Missouri State Archives, Saint Louis University, Washington University, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the State Historical Society of Missouri.

   Digital Preservation, also, provides facsimile printing for archival and display uses. Related digital imaging services, include compiling histories of organizations on CD-ROMs. A recently completed CD collection was for the old Western Military Academy, in cooperation with the Alton Museum.

   Anticipated projects include; a glass plate negative collection documenting construction of the Globe Democrat building, for the State, and a Ravenna mosaic exhibit, for Saint Louis University.

   This contract is awarded under the Cooperative Procurement Program, allowing State and local government entities to utilize this agreement to purchase digital imaging services from Digital Preservation.
